We will provide some answers to your questions about It's FRI and get you started. But before we do - we want to just remind you that this is NOT A RESERVATION SYSTEM - It is an INFORMATION SYSTEM that provides Guests who are considering staying in your region with easy access to answers to their questions about room availability directly on YOUR website.
- The good news is that
- a) you do NOT PAY COMMISSIONS to use the system and
- b) this is very easy to do, even if you consider yourself computer illiterate.
- c) this will take very little time to do. (Probably less than 2 minutes a day).
Why even read this and participate?
To best understand why, we need to see the world through the eyes of your potential guests. In a recent survey of guests who use the Internet to look for B&B's 88% of the guests said that they would select a B&B that showed room availability information on-line rather than call around for the same information off-line. These travelers also said that they will not call your B&B to ask about your room availability if other Innkeepers have made it easy to find that information on-line. This means a clear competitive advantage exists for those Innkeepers who provide access to this information on-line, on their websites, over those that don't.
The lesson is - Make It Easy for Guests - don't make Guests play telephone tag with voice messaging systems. Provide convenient access to room availability information on-line. Use the Find a Room at the Inn tool on your website. It will help you gain the competitive advantage!
Here's how to start using the It's FRI! room availability system:
It's simple to use. All you need to do is to:
- Select a password that you want to use - hint - make it an easy one to remember
- Let us know that if you want to use the Plus version of It's FRI
- Plus - Can be used on both your Home Page as well as on any Association site that you belong to. If you select Plus version - here are some linking options - Select one.
- Lite - This version is for use on B&B Association Sites only
- Decide on the Room Availability Calendar time intervals
Room Availability is displayed in 3 week time-frames. The system has a flexible and expandable calendar feature. Each Innkeeper can decide to set their Availability Calendar for any time period from 4 weeks to 6 months in 3 week time segments - 4 weeks, 7 weeks, 10 weeks, 13 weeks, 16 weeks, etc, etc. You can change this whenever you want.
